About The Scholarship

Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship program 2023 offers 100% tuition fee waiver to four high-achieving Indian students for the full duration of their studies at the university. The Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship Program is a part of an initiative of Deakin named ‘Changing Lives’ and recognises students with consistently high academic performance with the potential to make a leading contribution to the university and their community back in India. Successful students will be required to participate in the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program, a personal and professional development program. Applications for the scholarship are open for students applying for the July intake this year.

The selection for the Vice-Chancellor’s Meritorious Scholarship Program is a rigorous process consisting of application review, referee recommendations and interviews/presentations including a panel interview with representatives from the academia and the industry. Deakin also offers other academic performance-based bursaries and scholarships for Indian students that include a 25% Merit Scholarship and a 20% Bursary for studies onshore in Australia.

Testimonial from VC Scholars

I have always wanted to give back to the society by providing psychological aid to underprivileged people across the globe. This Scholarship gave me the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge at par with the global standards. I started my studies online last year due to travel restrictions and it has allowed me to balance my passion for psychology and sports.

I think it is amazing not just because the tuition is paid but I think the most interesting part of this for me was being a part of the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program, which empowered me to achieve beyond expectations and be ready for the careers of the future.

It wasn't merely an academic journey for me. It was the experience of a lifetime. If it weren't for the scholarship, I probably wouldn't have known the world outside of our country. I am thankful for being able to be part of Deakin. And I know there will be many like me.
