About The Scholarship

With a goal of making a profound impact on the lives of deserving students in India, Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Program is a part of the university’s ‘Changing Lives’ program and offer opportunities for postgraduate and undergraduate studies in any field, with no limit on the duration of study. The program is designed to support exceptional students who have demonstrated academic excellence and well rounded achievements and aims to empower them to study onshore at Deakin University in Australia.

The program was introduced first in 2014, and so far 59 deserving scholars have been awarded the 100% Scholarship for their studies in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

This year, Deakin University is offering ten 100% tuition fee waiver scholarships, each valued at over INR 6 million, to deserving Indian students for the full duration of study while being onshore at a Deakin campus in Victoria, Australia.

Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program

The scholars, while on-campus, are inducted also into the Vice Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP), which gives them the unparalleled opportunity to represent themselves and the University in prestigious forums alongside senior officials from the government, corporate and academia.

Eligibility Criteria

Scholarships are available to any Indian students who meet the minimum eligibility requirements. All preceding qualifications must be completed satisfactorily within the time frame stipulated, with no backlogs.

For Undergraduate Courses

  • Students residing in India
  • 85% and above in Year 12 scores from CBSE / ICSE / State Board
  • Students taking Year 12 can submit their predicted scores when applying; however, the final selection will be based on actual results
  • English language proficiency as per requirements for the course / area of study at Deakin University
  • Significant achievements in co-curricular activities
  • A demonstration of commitment to give back to the community

For Postgraduate Courses

  • Students residing in India
  • 85% overall in Year 12 scores of CBSE / ICSE / State Board
  • 80% and above in an undergraduate degree
  • English language proficiency as per requirements for the course / area of study at Deakin University
  • Significant achievements in co-curricular activities
  • A demonstration of commitment to give back to the community
